Finding the Magic

Meet Snap, our “Elf on the Shelf.”  He has his work cut out for him.  Typically, the elf on the shelf is expected to watch the children and report to Santa.  Snap has to also work some what of a miracle; he needs to help me to find the magic of Christmas again.
The magic of Christmas was lost in my childhood.  Lost too young, lost for the wrong reasons, and replaced with very negative feelings and memories.  Overcoming one’s past is not a simple task; regaining what was lost can seem impossible.  One thing my life has taught me is that I am strong and to never give up.  If what you are doing isn’t working it means that you need to try something new.  This year, my something new is Snap.

Snap and I will be having some fun adventures over the next 25 days.  If all goes right, I will find the magic of Christmas again and the kids will have a strong hold on theirs.  Each day there will be a post with Snap’s adventure.  It may be a simple hiding spot, a good deed, or even a prank; whatever it is, it will be one step closer to finding the magic I miss.
